Business Services Message:
Business Services is responsible to provide services to the students, staff, and the community of the District within the guidelines of the federal and state laws and the goals, policies, and procedures adopted by the Board of Trustees. The Business Services department oversees the operations and provides a wide range of support to Payroll, Accounts Payable, Maintenance, Operations & Transportation department, Nutrition Services department, Technology Services, Construction, Fiscal and Budget operations.
Biography:
Mr. Fernando Ortiz Jr., Chief Business Official with the Vineland School District has worked in Education for 11 years. Starting at Greenfield Union School District, Mr. Ortiz worked in the After School Program in multiple positions then promoted to the Curriculum department at the District Office. After a few years at Greenfield Union School District, Mr. Ortiz transitioned to Kern County Superintendent of Schools, and worked in a variety of Budget and Accounting positions within the Internal Business department of the Fiscal Support Division. Mr. Ortiz continued his career with the Vineland School District in the spring of 2021 and holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management from California State University of Bakersfield, a Masters degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management from University of Phoenix and is certified as a Chief Business Official through the California Association of School Business Officials after completing the CBO Program.
